Cinemas around Stafford

The Stafford Cinema

Newport Rd, Stafford ST16 2HH, UK – 020 7438 9580

It's okay cinema, I wish I could say more about it, I'm usually all for independent business but The Stafford Cinema lacks disabled access to any of it's screens. I don't know how they will last when the Odeon opens next year. Unless they manage to change in a big way. I think they should find something that gives them more of an edge. Like late night movies, or showing more independent films or even hosting movie marathons. The staff here are nice and helpful and they sell a good range of snacks.

I have very happy memories of this cinema, it's a shame it's in the state it is in now. Having visited just after noon on a Saturday I had expected it to be quiet, just not as quiet as it was not as cold as it was. Seems like its days are numbered too given the large multiplex being erected just across the road from it. Shame.

The Picture House

Bridge St, Stafford ST16 2HL, UK – 01785 222941

Beautiful building. An old cinema conversion. Plays classic films over Christmas. Very long bar, huge selection of drinks. No alcohol before 9:00 am. Not dog friendly. Very nice food.

Came down to sample the veggie brunch and was pleasantly surprised when a huge platter containing three sausages, two fried eggs, beans and very nicely cooked chips were presented. We helped ourselves to unlimited coffee refills after our initial purchase up till 2pm. The interior is well decorated acknowledging the buildings past as a picture house and creates a relaxing ambience. The two staff covering the lunch time tables worked ceaselessly with calm demeanour to ensure all customers were attended to quickly and satisfactorily. All in all a very pleasing experience which I would highly recommend and will be visiting myself again soon.

Theatres for Stafford

Stafford Gatehouse Theatre

Eastgate St, Stafford ST16 2LT, UK – 01785 619080

Went to see a children's production. Tickets were waiting for me at the desk after easily purchasing online. Welcomed by friendly ushers along the way and directed effortlessly to our seats. The performance kept my children entertained for the hour and their smiles make me want to return.

A fantastic intimate venue with a good ticket booking service and excellent local eateries to make your night out complete.

Stafford Festival Shakespeare

Stafford Castle, Newport Rd, Stafford ST16 1DJ, UK – 01785 257698

Great outdoor theatre experience. Covered seating so the performance continues even in wet weather. Bar serving alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, ice cream and snacks.

I worked at this event as Security. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there
